Hazelight's latest co-op journey, Split Fiction, has formally surpassed a million copies offered in the primary 48 hours, setting a new report for the studio.(*48*)
This information was announced on BlueSky, with the official account saying, "The love you all show for our game is overwhelming! 😍 Everyone here at Hazelight are beyond happy – and we can’t stop enjoying your amazing reactions! 🤩"(*48*)
Notably that is a million copies offered, which implies it's potential that far more than which might be taking part in Split Fiction. Every copy of the game comes with a Friend's Pass that lets a pal play the complete game in co-op with the purchaser without spending a dime. While not everybody will take benefit of that option (some will play native co-op, some might play with somebody who already owns the game, and so on), that's nonetheless a entire lot of people taking part in Split Fiction.(*48*)
This is a big gross sales bounce from Hazelight's final game, It Takes Two, which didn't reach the one million milestone until a month after launch. But that in and of itself was deemed an spectacular milestone, with studio head Josef Fares saying on the time that it proved gamers need co-op video games.(*48*)
We really dug Split Fiction, calling it "a rollercoaster of constantly refreshed gameplay ideas and styles – and one that’s very hard to walk away from" in our 9/10 review.(*48*)
